Denmark’s only supercar is set to be shelved soon, but before it bows out, there’s still time for one final evolution: the Zenvo TSR-GT.
It’s all change over at Zenvo Automotive. The bold Danish brand has a new leader in the form of ex-Czinger boss, Jens Sverdrup, and that’s not all – they’ve got a new car coming too. However, before the new vehicle emerges, it’s only right that the old one gets a final send off.
With a name like ‘TSR-GT’, those additional two letters suggest at first that the bonkers Zenvo might’ve gone soft in its old age. And indeed, there’s certainly some aspects of this new car that are more geared towards comfort than sporting prowess. For example, the alcantara interior of old has been replaced by leather, while noise-reducing floor mats have also been added. But don’t get it twisted, this car still has a wild streak…
The headline isn’t this car’s grand tourer credentials, but instead, its lack of drag – and subsequent straight-line speed potential. The Zenvo TSR-GT has been made to cut through the air better than ever before thanks to a revised carbon fibre aero package. That means that one of the Zenvo’s most recognisable traits – its active rear wing – has been replaced by a static spoiler. Elsewhere, you’ll also spot a set of aero discs covering each of the four rims.
The slippery silhouette is propelled forwards by the same 5.8-litre twin-supercharged flat-plane V8 found in other Zenvo iterations, however, in the TSR-GT, it’s been beefed up a bit. In the TSR-S, the power unit outputs 1177bhp, but as if that astonishing figure wasn’t enough, Zenvo’s engineers have managed to squeeze out an extra 183 horsepower, bringing the total up to 1360bhp. To do so, Zenvo has introduced what they call, the ‘TS Power Pack’. Essentially, this involves an upgraded inlet plenum and exhaust manifold, designed to improve the engine’s efficiency.
The gearbox has also been handed a longer final drive compared to normal in a bid to aid that push towards maximum velocity.
Happily, all that hard work does appear to have paid off, as the top speed of this Zenvo TSR-GT is advertised as 263mph! To put the modifications into perspective, a ‘regular’ TSR-S tops out at 202mph.
If you want one of these mad creations though, I’ve got some bad news for you. You can’t have one. Sorry. Only three TSR-GTs will ever be built, and each of them has already been allocated to a buyer. Guess I’ll have to strike it off my Christmas list then…
